Membership dues support the club by paying for meeting, operational and administrative expenses. These expenses are also supported in part by sponsorships.
2025 Membership
Before you submit dues, be sure to check out any discounts that may apply to you.
- 2025 dues are set at $150
- Dues are prorated by 50% after June 30th
- New veterinary medical school graduates enjoy waived dues through the end of the calendar year in which they graduated.
- First time applicants and recent graduates in their first full calendar year of practice enjoy a 50% dues discount.Retiree membership dues are set at $90 (After June 30th, $75)
- Honorary memberships: Membership dues are waived for qualified employees of Pima Animal Care Center and the Humane Society .
- 2024 membership dues are waived for Life members. To apply for life membership, contact the SAVMA office for details.
- The annual membership renewal period is held in the first quarter of the year.

Organized in 1982, SAVMA is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit association whose membership spans a variety of specialties in veterinary medicine. We accomplish our mission by providing continuing education programs to the veterinary medical community of Southern Arizona.
SAVMA membership is open to
graduates of a college of veterinary medicine accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association; or a graduate of a college no longer in existence or a graduate of any foreign veterinary college provided the applicant is individually approved by the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education.
SAVMA membership is also open to paraprofessionals who are providing professional technical support to veterinarians.
SAVMA offers life and honorary memberships to qualifying veterinarians and current members upon request and approval by the SAVMA Board of Directors.
SAVMA does not offer allied memberships or group discounts.

SAVMA operates a job bank on the Resources tab for veterinarians, veterinary support staff, relief veterinarians and practices for sale.
The relief veterinarian listing is available exclusively for SAVMA members.
Privacy
SAVMA does not sell membership information but we make directories available to members on request for their personal reference. We share CE attendance lists with speakers and sponsors on request.
Continuing Education
SAVMA offers the opportunity to fulfill continuing veterinary education requirements locally.
Open to the entire veterinary community, SAVMA members (and their technicians) enjoy preferred registration rates and receive announcements in their in-box in advance.
As a non-profit, SAVMA CE program fees cover our expenses. Fees are charged separately for each meeting and pay for your credit hours.
Non-members may attend but do not enjoy favorable member rates or advance notices.
SAVMA is an approved provider of CE units according to the Arizona State Veterinary Examining Board under Administrative Rule R3-11-402(A)(1)(b) to provide of CE credit hours.
